Calling all Artists!

Which Way the Wind Festival Art Exhibition

Submit your artwork to the Which Way the Wind Festival to be held at Synapsis, 1675 Union St., Eureka, Oct. 7-15, 2022. Selected art will be exhibited at Synapsis during Festival week and additionally at Redwood Art Association, 603 F St., Eureka, Nov. 15-Dec. 12.

Our goal is to engage the Humboldt County community through the arts to advocate and support actions for peace.

Participating artists must be Humboldt County residents. Artwork should be two-dimensional and reflect the themes of global warming; dangers of nuclear war and nuclear arms; and/or other environmental challenges our world faces. It can also focus on hopeful themes such as reverence and respect for nature; universal connection; and/or restoration.

There are General and Student categories open for submission. Cash prizes will be given for Best of Show ($500), Best Student Art ($100), First ($300), Second ($200), and Third ($100) place winners.

Selected entries will be curated by the Which Way the Wind Steering Committee. Jurors for the exhibition are Tamara Hubbard and Libby Maynard.

About us: Which Way the Wind Festival was first created in 2018, to draw attention to the nuclear threat to life on earth and to support a new voyage of the first nuclear protest vessel, the Golden Rule. Today the nexus between global warming, environmental degradation, defense spending and nuclear power has led to broader issues endangering our world. We sponsored Festivals to bring awareness to these topics in 2018 and 2019, and are pleased to continue this community event in 2022.
