Vow From Hiroshima

WWTW will present Susan Strickler’s documentary The Vow From Hiroshima, an intimate portrait of Setsuko Thurlow, a survivor of the Hiroshima atomic bomb. Her story is told through the lens of her friendship with a second-generation survivor, Mitchie Takeuchi.

Strickler will join via Zoom from New York for a Q&A following the film.

This film screening will be held on Friday, Aug. 4 at 7 p.m. at The Sanctuary, 1301 J St., Arcata. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are first come, first served. They are $10/adult; $5/student. Scroll down to the bottom of this page and provide the requested information to get your tickets.

This event is in accord with the 40th annual Arcata Lantern Floating Ceremony, which is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Klopp Lake (foot of South I Street).

Also, the Sanctuary will host lantern decorating during its Tuesday Art Nights, 7-9 p.m. in July. They will provide the lanterns along with decoration materials (one lantern per person while supplies last).
